Why Positioning Beats Volume in Every Job Search
Built around the same ideas: paste a job description, see who actually decides the hire. grapevines.ai/intel
There's a persistent belief that job searching is a numbers game. Send more applications, get more interviews. At entry level, there's some truth to it. At senior levels, the math breaks down entirely.
We tracked outcomes across early users and the pattern is consistent: candidates who scored 5 roles carefully and approached 2-3 with warm outreach outperformed candidates who applied to 50+ roles cold. Not by a small margin. The warm-outreach group had a 4x higher interview rate.
Positioning is the variable that makes targeting possible. Without a clear angle, every application starts from scratch. With positioning, you know which roles to prioritize, which to skip, and what to lead with when you reach out.
The volume approach feels productive. The positioning approach is productive. They're not the same thing.
